C.A.S.T Fans is a nonprofit social organization for Star Trek and science fiction enthusiasts in the Charleston, Tri-County Area of South Carolina. Though our members are as varied as their ages, backgrounds, interests and talents, Star Trek and Science Fiction brings us together.

In addition to monthly general meetings, our goal is to provide an activity program which allows our members to have fun, help the community and develop lasting friendships. These activities include but aren’t limited to: attending/working at local and national Star Trek & Sci Fi conventions, seeing movies and concerts as a group, museum trips, community service, picnics/cookouts/BBQs and any other activity that will build camaraderie and friendships. In other words, the activities of the Charleston Area Star Trek Fans group are limited only by the imagination of its members.

Here at C.A.S.T, our main objectives are to further develop Star Trek fandom in the Tri-County Area, help the community become a better place to live through community service utilizing the very real ideals of the fictional Star Trek universe, provide a friendly atmosphere of camaraderie among our members and most importantly to HAVE FUN.

If I build it will they come?


For far too long Star Trek fans have been marginalized in Pop Culture. I mean if say Trekkie or Trekker to some folk they would roll their eyes TurningEyes or look at you with pity SadNo or just plain ignore Whistling that fact that you've admitted your love of Star Trek.

And it's taken some very secure people to continue to publicly love Star Trek in spite of Nemesis and Enterprise. Yes

Well, I figured it was time, especially after the Abrams reboot, to come out of the proverbial closet and embrace my internal Trekkie/Trekker. I decided to create a fan group and I'm putting it out there...

I LOVE STAR TREK!

Now I know I'm gonna catch some flack for this but at this point in my life, I can no longer be overly concerned about what others think of me. I'm not ashamed of being a nerd and a geek.

Come join me.

Embrace your inner nerd, geek and most especially your inner Trekkie/Trekker!

    I'm in the Charleston area and would love to know more about CAST! I have been into trek since i was 14 (now 39).
